Após ganhar o Goya para Melhor Realizador Revelação em 2020, Belén Funes regressa com a sua segunda longa-metragem para nos contar uma história de luta entre uma mãe e uma filha que, após a morte do pai, decidem viver juntas em Barcelona para que a filha possa estudar. Ambas lidam com a perda do pai a partir de sensibilidades e perspetivas geracionais distintas, em condições de vida muito precárias.
