Een familiesaga die ons meeneemt door de recente geschiedenis van Portugal, met de Anjerrevolutie van april 1974 als startpunt voor wat komen gaat. Though it takes place against the backdrop of the transition to democracy, the story centred in Duarte´s inner conflict is more an exploration of the effects of the colonial war on individuals and the suffering carried forward through generations.
