Mañas’s film Noviembre is a fascinating mix of fact and
fiction. The film is loosely based on the Spanish theatre group El
Piojo Picón, that was active in the transition period after
the death of Franco. Actress Paloma Lorena can tell us how much is
fact and how much is fiction. |

Vasca consists of interviews with some 70 people connected with the
Basque conflict. Jan Mansvelt Beck, expert on the Basque conflict
from the University of Amsterdam will provide an introduction to the
film telling us about the issue and the controversy surrounding the
film in Spain. After the film he will be available to answer questions. |

an easy victory in the Spanish parliamentary elections. For a number
of well known and lesser known Spanish filmmakers this was a reason
to participate in the Hay Motivo project that presents in 32 short
films a critique on contemporary Spain. And then the bombs in Madrid
exploded... Journalist Cristina González will provide some
background on contemporary Spain. |
